  • Why do I need an OmniGuard 6 Differential Pressure Monitor (Manometer)?

The OmniGuard 6 manometer precisely monitors the pressure differential between a containment zone and the outside area and sounds an alert if a breach is detected. The negative pressure required by code is typically no more than 0.020” WC (or 0.02 inches of water column); the OmniGuard 6 is designed to detect fine measurements and keep you in compliance. Easy to set up, with simple push-button calibration, the OmniGuard 6 makes keeping people safe a breeze.

  • When and where should I use the OmniGuard 6?

A pressure monitor is essential to ensure the integrity of a critical containment space. Ideal for asbestos, lead, and mold abatement, the OmniGuard 6 is also used in clean rooms and healthcare facilities working to prevent the spread of infectious disease. These environments are inherently dangerous because of airborne pollutants and/or pathogens and demand safe practices by workers, their managers and anyone who may be exposed to potentially harmful material. Pressure monitors are regularly deployed in abatement, restoration & construction projects, industrial applications, healthcare facilities and used by first responders or anyone involved in epidemic response.

How Does a Manometer Work?

A manometer measures the pressure differential between 2 columns of liquid (usually water or mercury) that are contained within a single u-shaped tube. Each side of the tube measures the pressure within a specific area (ie. a containment zone vs. the outside). By comparing the pressures of each side, a manometer immediately indicates when the difference between those two pressures drops too low – a clear marker that a containment breach has occurred.
